Roland Poulsen, Deputy CEO
Get to know one of our favorite Danes – Roland Poulsen, Deputy CEO at Scanvo and co-owner!When Roland moved to Sweden, he was only 19 years old and had gotten a job as an apprentice with the newcomer Scanvo in Varberg, which his father had helped to start up.
"I was so nervous and found it difficult with the language. I remember being tasked with answering the phone. Haha, it wasnt entirely easy at first, and over the years, we have received many comments about being Danes. But I think weve become quite skilled in both the language and the Swedish business culture," says Roland, who grew up in a family passionate about vehicles and motorsport.
"Several generations of us are into circuit racing and rally – one of my biggest interests." Nowadays, mostly as a supportive dad on the sidelines.
The years at Scanvo been a lot of hard work, and he couldnt have imagined that the company would become as large as it is today. "We owe a lot to our fantastic employees, partners, and customers," says Roland, who became a co-owner and Deputy CEO in 2011.
Ive been Allans right-hand man, and the friendship we have together is fantastic. But we still compete for fun and have a good chemistry. The whole team has fun at work, and we care about each other. Im incredibly proud of everyone who works here!
There are currently many ongoing discussions with Scanvos customers about the future of the industry, especially regarding fuel. "We are happy to be a supportive resource and like to have a close relationship with our customers. We are flexible and prioritize our customers needs!"
